Proven Sales Executive, Sean McGeough, Joins Aerion Supersonic To Drive Global Market Growth

Reno, NV – February 25, 2022 – Aerion, the leader in supersonic flight and technology, announced today that Sean McGeough has joined the company as Vice President of Sales, supporting the company’s effort to grow a global market presence ahead of the AS2® supersonic business jet commencing production in 2023.

Sean brings over 20 years of extensive industry experience, joining Aerion’s Global Sales team from Wheels Up where he was the Executive Vice President of Corporate Sales. Sean’s expertise will be directed towards accelerating Aerion’s growing fleet sales and international footprint, supported by a growing AS2® order backlog.

“Sean is an incredibly well-respected sales leader with an in-depth knowledge of our industry and the expectations of our customers,” said Matt Cram, Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing. “We are excited to welcome him to the team and have him represent Aerion in delivering exceptional service to our international customer base as we bring the AS2® to market.”

A well-known name in the private aviation community, Sean has held senior sales and general management positions with industry leaders including Hawker-Beechcraft, Nextant Aerospace, and most recently, Wheels Up.

Sean said: “The AS2® is about more than just saving time, it is about creating a new era in air travel. The world is about to become a whole lot smaller, and I’m very excited to be part the journey with the Aerion team.”

Sean holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology where he wrote a thesis on supersonic business travel and is an airline transport pilot (ATP) with type ratings on Hawker 400XP, Hawker 800XP and Beechcraft King Air.

Aerion’s pursuit of faster point-to-point travel begins with the launch of the AS2® supersonic business jet. Designed to be inherently environmentally responsible from first flight, the AS2® is the first supersonic aircraft designed to be powered by 100% engineered synthetic fuel and reach supersonic speeds without the need for an afterburner.

The manufacture of 300 AS2® aircraft is planned for the first decade of production. The AS2® will be the first aircraft to be assembled at the company’s new global headquarters in Melbourne, Florida – Aerion Park. The state-of-the-art development – powered by sustainable technology – will incorporate headquarters operations plus an integrated campus for research, design, build, and maintenance of the company’s aircraft.

Aerion has a growing nationwide employee base encompassing core sites in Reno, NV – the company’s current HQ – an Aerion Technologies division in Palo Alto, CA and a new facility in Melbourne, FL – home to the future Aerion Park campus.
